Our mom, Juana Fontanilla Paet was born on March 30, 1925 in the Philippines, Taleb Bantay, Ilocos Sur. (Deceased: July 26, 2019).
Our dad Jorge Pacada Paet was born on February 22, 1922 in the Philippines, Taleb Bantay, Ilocos Sur. (Deceased: July, 10, 2004).
Our parents Juana and Jorge got married in August 1947. They had 3 boys and 3 girls together, Jovita “Ben” (Alma) Paet (Deceased: March 16, 2006), Aida (Flor) Cardenas, Crucelia “Rose” Paet Villanueva, Ernesto “Ernie/Botong” Paet (Deceased: May 9, 2002), Samson “Boying” Paet (Deceased: January 3, 2021) and Emily Paet Deleon.
At 2nd grade, our mom Juana stopped going to school to take care of her siblings Narcissa and Fausta, since they lost their mom at a young age, then she became a house wife to help her dad take care of their land.
In March 1969, our dad Jorge moved to Hawai’i with our eldest brother, Ben. Our eldest sister, Aida moved to Hawai’i in 1970. 1972 our siblings Rose, Botong & Boying moved to Hawai’i. Our mom Juana later join our dad in Hawai’i in 1973 with our youngest sister Emily.
Our mom Juana worked as a dishwasher at Maui Surf hotel, until she retired. Our dad Jorge was a bus driver in the Philippines. When he moved to Oahu he was a road worker. When he moved to Maui he was a yard man at Stouffer’s beach Wailea hotel. He then worked at Kaanapali Golf as a yard man until he retired.
Our mom was a sweet caring person who always made sure everyone was fed and taken care of.
Our parents lived in Lahaina, Maui, then later resided in Kihei, Maui where they helped raise 12 grandchildren and blessed with 23 great grandchildren, that only our mom Juana was able to meet almost all of them.
